1. Georgia Miniature Donkeys

Situated in Sylvania, Georgia Miniature Donnkeys are a small family-owned place that only breed a few select foals a year. Currently they have four jennies and a spotted jack at the head of their breeding program.

The website is a little sparse on information. The owners prefer you contact them first and don’t list their address publicly.

Buying requires a $200 non-refundable deposit. Donkeys are worked with after two weeks of weaning with basic training. All donkeys leave after being dewormed and receiving vaccinations.

2. Lewis Mill Ranch

This ranch specializes in miniature donkeys, gypsy vanner horses and miniature horses. It’s one of the most reputable in the state.

Operating since the late 1990’s, Lewis Mill is a family operation that usually has several foals and adults available for purchase each year.

The website details all their herdsires and jennets, giving information on their dates of birth, bloodlines and colors.

3. Tanglewood Farm

Located in the hills of Cherokee County in North Georgia, Tanglewood Farm has miniature donkeys and a whole bunch of other minitature breed therapy farm animals.

Open since 1993, the farm even has its own Tanglewood Foundation set up to encourage the preservation and promotion of miniature domestic animals.

All the donkeys here are fed off pasture-raised Fescue, Bermuda and Alfalfa or hay.

4. Big E Livestock and Donkeys

Big E is a veteran owned and operated farm with sites in Florida, Alabama and Georgia. They have over 40 years experience trading livestock.

They have a lot of experience in donkeys and feel they’re one of the safest of all domestic animals to handle.

Although the website doesn’t have a dedicated sales page listing animals they’ve previously bought or sold, they’re reputable enough. They deliver statewide in the places they operate.

5. Paradise Valley Farm

In business for over 15 years, Paradise valley specializes in miniature donkeys as well as other miniature species like pigs, goats, sheep and cows. They’re known for having very friendly and socialized animals that are colorful and playful.

Also on the site is one of the largest petting zoos in north Georgia. Paradise Valley also run a successful Outreach Program to promote animal education and welfare.

They have a few mini donkeys for sale each year but aren’t large scale breeders. They prefer you to contact them for an appointment first before a walk in.
