1. Donkeys Farm

Donkeys Farm is a miniature donkey breeder based in Stephenville, Texas, who has 30 years of experience raising and keeping minis.

Their donkeys are show ring quality and suitable as unique family pets or for more competitive endeavors. The farm claims bloodlines from Siciliy and Sardinia, going all the way back to 1928.

Their miniatures are microchipped, vaccinated, and registered. Their sales page lists all the current donkeys they have available…


If you don’t have time to make it in person, Donkeys Farm says they’ll send you photos and information on their donkeys for sale upon your request.

The farm is situated an hour and a half southwest of Dallas Ft Worth airport.

2. Hickory Hill Donkey Farm

Hickory Hill Donkey Farm is a registered miniature donkeys breeder situated in Flynn, Texas, midway between Houston and Dallas.

Owned and operated by Harvey and JoAnn Jordan, Hickory Hill has nine breeding jacks, a herd of jennets, and many delightful yearlings who are weaned and socialized in their donkey nursery.


The farm’s donkeys have featured in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Breyer ads, and more!

3. Maxwell’s Silver Hammer Farm

Maxwell’s Silver Hammer Farm was founded in Bastrop, Texas, in 2003 by Teri and Jerry Maxwell. As a registered breeder of miniature donkeys, all the animals they sell are registered with the American Donkey and Mule Society.

The farm itself is located 15 miles east of Austin and is noticeable thanks to being a big red barn.

Their senior herdsire is a Texas State Fair Champion, while their jennets are sized between 33″ to 34.5″. You can see the full listings for each on the website.

4. Pixie Farms Miniature Donkeys (& Boer Goats)

Pixie Farms is a registered miniature donkey farm located in Crowley, Texas.

They regularly have jacks and jennets available for purchase listed via their Facebook page.

Their miniatures are weaned on the farm, raised, and made ready for purchase via microchip, Coggins tested, rope and halter lead trained, and socialized with different types of animals.

Donnas Donkeys breeds registered miniature donkeys on their 15-acre farm (Sassafrass Farm) in Central Texas.

With a 17-year breeding history, they specialize in producing spotted, red, gray, brown, and frosted spotted whites.

All the donkeys they sell are registered with ADMS, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, and had regular hoof care. Each animal is also sold with a lead and halter.

Owned by Jim and Susan Grafe, TexAss Longears is another registered miniature donkey breeder who select their animals based on conformation, disposition, and color.

They specialize in spotted, gray, and dark miniatures and have been raising donkeys since 1998.

They’re based north of Hallettsville, about 100 miles from Houston, San Antonio, and Austin.

Chapel Hill Farm is based in Fort Worth, just 35 miles from Dallas. They specialize in producing registered miniature donkeys that are well-tempered, loving, and part of owners Paul and Lori Cruse’s ever-growing family.

Their herdsire; La Bahia Trail Buddy, is a multiple show winner. Most of their donkeys mature at around 29 inches in height but there are some small jennets ranging from 28″ to “32.

They take requests for upcoming foals.
